Personal History		Erique San Bartolomé was born into a prosperous Filipino family whose wealth came from a successful chain of hotels that were established and expanded by his parents across four Federation worlds. His father, believing that privilege was wasted on children who had never learned the value of ordinary work, required Erique and his siblings to earn their own experience from the bottom up rather than relying on the family business. He spent his adolescence working wherever he was needed, learning the fundamentals of food prep, housekeeping, provisioning, and guest services before he eventually decided that he wanted to see more of the Federation than the family hotels could offer. He joined Starfleet as an enlisted crewman, deliberately choosing to begin with a modest assignment where he could learn and prove himself on his own merits. Erique's background made him a natural fit for Steward, and although he has no immediate plans to follow his siblings into the family business, he regards this new era of life in Starfleet as another piece of the education his father insisted he needed.
