| Personal History | Tyler Hunt was born in 2153 in Chicago, Illinois, to Andre Hunt and Lita Armstrong. His birth was only months after the devastating Xindi attack on Earth which claimed the lives of nearly all his father's immediate family in Florida. Though Tyler was too young to understand the gravity of the situation. The loss from this event shapped the type of man the man who is father would become, which in turn would be passed onto him. While a toddler his faher Andre accepted an invitation to join Starfleet. Though a lifelong dream for Andre this decision cost him his family, leading to the couple divorcing. Tyler remained on Earth with his mother bring raised in New York City where he spent most of his childhood and teenage years. By the time Tyler reached adulthood, there was no doubt about his intended career goal. Many assumed that he was simply following his father's footsteps in order to become a second generation Starfleet Officer. But at this time, he viewed Starfleet differently than most. Exploration was well and good, but it was Starfleets ability to prevent conflict before lives were lost which became a primary focus for himself. The greatest victories were often the one that never made it into the history books. In 2172, Tyler Hunt entered Starfleet Academy as a member of the Class of 2176. Almost immediately, he found himself carrying the weight of the Hunt name. Many of the instructors at the Academy were familiar with his father Captain Andre Hunt. And a few of his father's missions had been required reading for discussion. As much as he admired his father, Tyler found himself arguing against several decisions that he felt could have been handled differently. Growing up, Tyler rarely saw his father for extended periods due to Starfleet assignments on the USS Meridian. Despite the distance, Andre managed to remain an importance influence through regular correspondence and shoreleave whenever possible. While hearing tales of adventure serving in Starfleet, Tyler longed to create his stories of adventures among the stars. Excelling academically, and participating in sports. His friends and teachers would describe the young man as thoughtful, dependable and unusually calm under pressure. Never the loudest in the room, but at times displayed leadership abilities. Most expected the Cadet to be a know it all, due to having a commanding officer as a father, but what they got was a quiet and calm individual who evaluated every situation. Which at times, came off as hesitant to make a mistake. Graduating in 2176, with a major in Operations and a minor in diplomacy, the newly commissioned Ensign Tyler Hunt was assigned to the USS Argo as the Operations Officer. Over the last five years, Hunt has earned the trust and confidence of the officers appointed over him. Upon promotion to Ltjg., Tyler was given the opportunity to work as Officer of the Watch. This allowed him to demonstrate his ability to remain calm and his recommendations assisted in diffusing situations that could have led to a more serious confrontation. In 2181, after five years aboard the USS Argos, Tyler received transfer orders and a promotion to Lieutenant when he accepted orders to the USS Eventide as the ship's Chief Operations Officer. |
