Pre-Launch gathers the stories that unfold before departure with a combination of anticipation, uncertainty, and hope.

    Every journey begins before the engines kick-in. As personnel and their families arrive at Alpha Centauri for final processing, this mission explores the personal side of departure: reunions, farewells, last-minute prep, and even the quieter moments before a crew commits to a long-term, long-range mission beyond Federation space.

    For some, departure is an adventure. For others, it's a sacrifice. However your character approaches this threshold, Escape Velocity is about transcending it.

    Before any starship can chart the unknown, its crew must first learn to function as a unit. This mission follows Starfleet personnel and civilian specialists alike through orientation, safety briefings, emergency drills, simulator exercises, and familiarization with Eventide's departments and technology. From security scenarios to EVA certification, every lesson is one more piece of preparation for life on the edge of the known.

The galaxy is a very large place, and humanity has spent centuries learning how little of it we truly understand.

The Edge of Knowing follows USS Eventide on her first great expedition beyond familiar space, as her crew journeys toward one of the Federation's oldest unanswered questions: the Galactic Barrier. Scientists, explorers, and specialists from countless fields will come together to study a phenomenon that has stood at the edge of every star chart, carrying with them the hopes, questions, and expectations of those who sent them there.

The crew will discover that some boundaries exist for a reason, and that the universe has a way of reminding us just how small we are. Beyond the last familiar stars lies a place where ages-old assumptions no longer apply, and where the journey becomes discovery.
